སྨོན་ལམ་ག་རི་རྒྱབ་ཡིན། ངས་ཚོད་དཔག་བྱེད་ག།
ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་དཔུང་པ་ཐམ་ནས། རྨོ་ལགས་མིག་ཆུ་བཏང་གི།
མིག་ཆུ་ཐིག་པའི་ནང་ལ། རྒྱ་གར་འཕགས་པའི་ཡུལ་འདུག
ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་ཕུ་དུང་ཡ་གཅིག། ཡང་སྐྱར་རློན་པ་ཆགས་སོང་།

A fine rain was falling when we met that day
And there was a crowd outside Tsuklakhang
Where you and your grandma had come to pray.
You held a small umbrella that shielded only her,
One of your sleeves was drenched in the shower.

The house of gods was filled with smoke and grease.
I stood before the Jowo, but my eyes followed your grace.
As the warmth of the butter lamps dried your blouse,
And the light of a thousand flames brightened your face,
The shadow of a thousand desires darkened my soul.

You closed your eyes and bowed to Jowo Rinpoche.
Shall I guess what you were praying for?
As grandma held you close and cried once more,
The holy land of India appeared in her tears
And your sleeves were soaked once again.
