This is a Tibetan children's song I composed when my daughter was two years old and beginning to stage civil disobedience campaigns at home. To counter her tantrums, I wrote the song to trick her into believing she possessed all these wonderful qualities. The virtues listed in this song do not describe a child's reality, they reflect a parent's dream. But as the saying goes, we sometimes become what we pretend to be. So here's to hoping that children who hear this song multiple times will slowly begin manifesting these qualities.
I originally recorded this song as a contribution to Morley and Chris Bruce's magical collaboration album, "Story of the Sky," which came out in August 2023.
